Talk with your team
right beside the work.
Channels, direct messages and group conversations live inside your workspace. Your project and your team open their own channel, and the decision stays there.
Messaging module features
From opening a channel to threads, from search to notification settings, all of it inside Workinno.
Open and private channels
You give each topic its own channel. Anyone in the workspace can join an open channel; a private one is seen only by the people you invite. Who reads what is settled as you create the channel.
Direct and group messages
You write one to one with a person, or gather a few people into one conversation. You do not have to open a channel for a group. A short conversation needs no structure built around it.
A channel tied to a project
When you turn messaging on in a project, a channel belonging to that project is created. The decision about the project stays in the project’s channel and does not mix into the main flow. The project’s conversation stands with the project.
A channel tied to a team
As you build a team, you open its chat channel too. Whoever joins the team joins the channel, whoever leaves is removed; you never update the list by hand. As the team changes, the channel updates itself.
Threads
You move a long-running topic under the message. The main flow stays clean and the people involved carry on in their own thread. Two conversations do not run over each other.
Mentions
When you mention a person, a notification reaches them. You can also call out to the whole channel or to whoever is connected at that moment. You reach the person you want to inform directly.
Attachments
You drop the image or the document into the conversation. The file stays under the message and you do not have to send it separately. The document stays together with the context of the conversation.
Reactions
You do not have to write a message for a short confirmation. You react with an emoji, and who reacted is visible too. Short confirmations do not crowd the channel.
Pinning
You pin at the top what everyone in the channel needs to know. Whoever joins the channel later sees it first. The same piece of information is not written into the channel again and again.
Saving for yourself
You save the message you want to come back to. Your saved items are visible only to you and gather in one list. The messages you will look at later collect in a single list.
Inbox
You see what has landed on you in one list. Unread conversations and messages that mention you stand together. You start the day knowing what is waiting for you.
Message search
You type the sentence you are looking for. You can narrow the results by channel, by person or to those carrying a file. A decision made in the past does not get lost.
Notification level
For each conversation you choose how much notification you want: all messages, only the ones that mention you, or none. You can also mute a conversation until a given date. You set the notification order to your own rhythm of work.
Invitations to a conversation
You invite someone to a private channel and they join once they accept. If you sent it by mistake, you can withdraw the invitation. You decide who enters a private channel.
Who is in the channel
You see who the channel is made of in a single window. You add new people from the list and take out the ones who should leave; whoever manages the channel is marked next to their name. Who can change the channel stays in plain sight.
Who is available
You see whether a person is online, away, or would rather not be disturbed. If the other side has started typing, that does not escape you either. You choose whom to write to and when by seeing it.
Archiving
You archive the channel of a finished job; it leaves the list but the conversation is not deleted. If one day you need to go back to that decision, you restore the channel and open it. The channel list does not swell with finished work.
Editing and deleting
You correct a message you wrote wrongly within fifteen minutes of sending it. Where a deleted message stood it says it was deleted; it does not vanish quietly. The history of the conversation stands as it was.

Frequently asked questions
Is this module for writing to my customers?
No, this is internal team messaging. WhatsApp, Instagram and live chat messages from your customers gather in the Communication Hub; this is where you talk to the people in your workspace.
Does every project get a channel on its own?
It opens when you turn messaging on in the project. If you do not want a channel for every project, you leave that feature off and the project runs without one.
Can I chat under a task?
Conversation about a task happens in the task’s own comments. The messaging module is for channels, direct messages and group conversations.
Can someone who joins later see the history?
When you join an open channel you can read the past messages. In a private channel you have to be invited first.
Can I turn notifications off?
You choose for each conversation separately: all messages, only the ones that mention you, or none. You can also mute a conversation until a given date.
Can I turn off direct messages in my workspace?
Yes. Once it is off, the team writes only through channels and no one-to-one message can be opened.
Can I correct a message I wrote?
You can correct it within fifteen minutes of sending. An edited message says next to it that it was edited; it does not change quietly.
Is there voice or video calling?
No. Messaging is for written conversation, file sharing and threads; voice or video calling is not in this module.
Let the talking stay beside the work too.
Open your first channel and invite your team. Let no decision get lost on a phone.
